10 FOUNDER TEAM Richard Verkley – Executive Chairman and CEO Richard is the CEO of both Eco Metal Recovery UK & Farpoint Mining & Metals, both environmentally and ecologically friendly mining and equipment companies that specialize in gold mining and recovery. As someone who loves the challenge of bringing new products to market, Richard was the man who helped open and train the first AlphaGraphics locations in Russia. AlphaGraphics was one of the first capitalistic business ventures in the new Russia. Among their first clients for printing services was the first McDonald’s location in Russia. From 2000-2004 Richard and his team taught the business of business and purchased the Canadian rights to a business coaching franchise. He grew the Canadian operation to 96 offices in three years and helped grow the global operation. Richard has used his entrepreneurial skills to create large licensed organisations with high energy corporate cultures and incredible results. His former organisation, FocalPoint (in which he partnered with Brian Tracy, one of the world’s top business speakers), was ranked the #11 Top Global Franchise by Franchise Review in 2007. Bruce Wilkinson, Project Manager Bruce is an experienced Project Manager/Business Strategist who specializes in leading technology-focused project teams from inception through completion. Bruce brings a wealth of expertise in a range of industries to bear on each project he tackles. Experience includes complete life-cycle project management in business software development, business intelligence projects, implementing enterprise-level Electronic Health Records and Practice Management Systems, and projects involving pulp mill plant operations. Bruce is now pleased to focus his efforts on helping EMR to maximize it's potential as it brings the Separator to market. Dr. Michael Hofer – Technical and Manufacturing Manager Michael is a Technical Engineer with an Advanced Engineering Degree in Mining, Material Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Geology and Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. After polishing his IT skills at the Control Data Institute, Michael received his PhD in Applied Material Sciences. First professional experiences were with SIEMENS (Germany) and MORGAN Group (UK) before he began global activity. After managing the Latin American divisions of STORK, an Austrian company developing mining equipment, he moved to managing the Latin American market for IGUS, a multi-national enterprise providing polymer-based machinery for mining and industrial applications. With nearly 20 years’ experience in engineering and producing heavy-duty mining equipment, Michael knows the players, the challenges, the machinery and the lay of the land for making The Separator system work. Robert Van der Zalm, NxD and Interim CFO Robert has 28 years’ experience as a business turnaround and M&A leader as underpinned by his commercial finance experience in Consumer Products, Speciality Chemicals, Agricultural, Downstream Oil and Gas as well as Metals Sectors. His most recent role (departing in 2015) was as Group CFO of Noble Group, the Asian listed trading company with $90+ Billion turnover. Prior to joining Noble, Robert was CFO of BHP Billiton’s Global Aluminium business. Starting his career at Unilever, Robert held a number of finance positions in Europe, Russia and SE Asia. He then joined Shell, holding a number of senior management positions in Finance and M&A in the Downstream business, before becoming CFO of its Gas and Power Trading business. Robert holds a first class Chemistry degree from Oxford University, and has worked and lived in 10 different countries through his career. She has forged her expertise as in-house counsel at BHP Billiton and in private practice at top law firms in Australia, New York and London. Rebecca brings her knowledge and experience to a broad range of transactions across the mining & metals sector globally, regularly taking the lead on financing, M&A/corporate, project development and restructuring transactions, as well as operational improvement and best practice projects for corporate clients. Rebecca is known for her unparalleled knowledge of the commercial, technical and political aspects of the mining and metals sector and her ability to deftly integrate these with the legal considerations on any given matter for her clients. Rebecca holds first class degrees in Law and Biochemistry from the University of Melbourne. James McDowell, Chief Operating Officer James is an experienced Director and Global Business Manager with over 10 years of finance experience working for major investment banks and other finance companies including JP Morgan and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). James has significant new business development and operational experience working alongside technology and fintech start- ups and has personally been involved in establishing a mining equipment and services company focused on the African markets. In addition to an undergraduate degree in business from Rhodes University in South Africa, James holds advanced qualifications in mining appraisal and valuation from Imperial College London. Ian Jacobsen, Project Director and NxD Ian has over 40 years of mining industry experience predominantly with major miners such as BHP Billiton, where he worked closely with Robert and Rebecca, and also Rio Tinto. Ian has held various senior mining roles, including as VP Technical and Chief Operating Officer for BHP Billiton and Project Director for Rio Tinto. More recently, Ian has served as Chairman of SCCR Group, an expert contracting and consulting company providing services principally to the mining and metal resources sector and supporting operational leaders at all levels in risk management and governance, operational performance, project delivery and team effectiveness. Ian is a graduate of the Caulfield Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
