24 SPECIAL ISED MATERIALS ▲ One reason The Separator design could not have been built in the past, is that the technical materials required to withstand the harsh and abrasive environment of metals separation were simply not available. In the recent past, technical aerospace plastics and other materials have become available and our engineering firm has been successful in using them in the production of heavy-duty mining equipment. ▲ Since 2002, Dr. Hofer, our Project Manager, has been General Manager for IGUS group which specialises in these polymer-based technical plastics and specifically in their application to industrial mining machinery. ▲ EMR now has sufficient experience with milling and employing these materials in a variety of large mining applications across South America and beyond to have a great degree of confidence in their ability to be up to the task.
